3D-Lofi-Girl WIP

WIP of a cellshaded 3d-scene homage of the famous lo-fo girl illustration: a person is studying in a cosy room at night.

Hello Fedifriends! 😺

I’m testing non-realistic, more painterly shading in #Blender (= #cellshading, thanks Kevendram for the tutorials), decided to do homage on #lofigirl.

I’m not really happy with it, especially the lighting / shadow are a mess.

What do you think? Should I continue or try a more normal approach to shading / lighting?

Inskscape: How to split / break one object in two

Since it’s the three-bazillionst time I’m looking this up I’ll write it down here so I can find it easily.

You split an object in two at certain nodes by selecting two nodes and then pressing:

– Shift-B (Break apart at selected nodes) as pointed out on Stackexchange.
– Ctrl-Shift-K (Break apart again but the path/object this time, I guess? This always confuses me to no end, why this is a two-step process? Only the almighty SVG goddess knows)

I’ll preserve the handy graphic that user Brecht (see link above) made in case Stackexchange goes full enshittify mode in the future:

„The Shadow“ now in my shop ✨

Grafische Reste (2008) – Repost

A rather abstract digital collage in black and white with a female coded figure at the top and graphical elements reminiscent of electrical circuit drawings and printed circuit boards.

Randomly though about this this morning, one of the few times(1) I did (#digital) #collage, courtesy of my friend and fellow student Ina Keck, topics where #consumerism vs #individuality, #tech vs #emotion etc. Fun times! ^__^

Cloud Scapes (2020)

This started as a #study in 2020 about the way #clouds sometimes stack behind each other to form these #fantastic #landscapes in the #sky.

I feel like I didn’t really nail it, need to investigate that again at some point ^__^

EDIT: This apparently inspired @Fjord in Progress / Semiotic Pirate to the following:

Everything leaned in to watch the wanderers approach the distant castle. The clouds began to loom protectively over the castle’s towers. The landscape filled with intent, though no decision had been made as the travelers remained silent, their footsteps soft upon the earth. There was no path but neither were there obstructions.

Which I love! It’s kinda the opposite of back when the music of The Princess and The Pearl inspired me to do Ghost Ship ^__^ Different art forms inspiring each other, it’s just the best!

„A Storm Coming“ / „Viking Monk“ (2010) Repost

Here’s a very old (2010!) piece I recently found on my blog, it was apparently for the (now defunct) #DrawingDay, done on a tiny, ancient (about A6!) #wacom #DrawingTablet (could never get used to them in the end).
